Our wonderfully succulent, Organic Ducks are fed on a natural diet to yield tender dark meat with an intense rich flavour.
Irresistible golden crispness
Dry plucked and expertly hung - to provide that essential layer of fat underneath the skin that keeps the meat beneath succulent - and helps the skin above roast to that famous irresistible golden crispness
Organic rearing refers to Ducks raised according to strict Organic farming standards, prioritizing animal welfare, natural diets, and the absence of synthetic chemicals.
Key Characteristics of Organic Duck
• Diet and Feeding: Ducks are fed a 100% certified organic diet free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The use of growth enhancers or hormones is strictly prohibited.
• High Welfare Standards: Organic Ducks are raised in free-range environments with access to outdoor pastures and water for swimming, dabbling, and preening. Techniques like force-feeding are forbidden.
• No Routine Antibiotics: Antibiotics are not used routinely; they are only permitted for treating sick animals under strict veterinary supervision, and the use of synthetic pesticides on their grazing land is restricted.
• Slower Growth: These birds are often "slow-grown" to reach maturity naturally, which is believed to result in more succulent meat with a deeper, more robust flavour.

Our Organic Ducklings come from Organic Pekin strain parents bred specifically for the table.
In their custom-built Brooder for 14-17 days, our Organic Ducks stay warm and cosy until they are ready to forage outside and enjoy their own spectacular views over and across the mouth of the Exe to the Pebble Bed Heaths beyond.
Ideal for roasting, our whole Duck has the giblets removed and supplied with the bird separately.

Otter Valley Organic Whole Duck
INGREDIENTS: Organic Duck
ALLERGEN ADVICE: For Allergens, including Cereals containing Gluten, see Ingredients in Bold.
Cook thoroughly
Otter Valley Organic Whole Duck
Roast
Pierce the bird all over with a metal skewer.
Season with salt and pepper, then roast at 190c 375F Gas Mark 5 for 30 mins per 450g.
When cooked, rest the Duck for 10 mins before carving

over 4 hrs (the longer the better!)
